Letter of appreciation from a Midnight Hour viewer. 7th July 1998.
To Dr Campion,
I watched Janet Street Porter's presentation of The Midnight Hour with cringeing embarrasment. The attitude of the women on the programme, with the bit between their teeth, did not enhance their image as they scotched every attempt by Dr John Campion to explain the outrageous truth of a major reason for the failure of the Child Support Agency. Every word he attempted to say was accurate. No matter what terminology he might use, he could never have got past their angry and unreasonable barricade.
This clarified for me his very point!
My son for over eight years has been deprived of the company and love, and they his, of his two little boys. For no other reason than a vengeful wife who has poisoned her children's minds against him and his entire family.
The Child Support Agency has extracted every penny of his willing contributions over these years to no avail.
Birthday and Christmas presents to the children, they are taught, are 'manipulative'. We live in the same town. The children, our family, have been deprived of our love. They are now mentally scarred in a way that can never be repaired.
This typical scenario is what Dr Campion tried in vain to describe.....but he is only a man.Yours in despair.
